Climate change can be a difficult subject to communicate. It is somewhat abstract, highly technical and full of jargon. As such, climate change is hard for people to relate to, which disempowers them to act against it.
A great way to get people to take action is to demonstrate the relevance of climate change to their own experience, and the best way to do this is through stories. C17 is in the process of creating an international climate change story repository as an open tool to communicate the issues in the run-up to and during COP17. We are collecting stories from across the planet that demonstrate first-hand individual and community experiences of climate change effects, as well as the efforts being taken to address these experiences in the form of adaptation projects and community initiatives.
